Application for Social Assistance at Agency for Social Protection

Casual Workers who are not getting a payslip may also apply for the Financial Schemes being provided by Government under the Agency for Social Protection (ASP).

The form is available at all District Administration offices and the documents compulsory for application through welfare are as follows:

• Valid National Identity card or passport or driving licence for applicant and immediate household members
• Utility bills
• Housing loan/rent receipt
• Proof of income/latest tax return

Procedure for application is done through the Benefit and Welfare officer based in respective administration office. The amount of supplementary income to which a person is entitled shall be the amount of the shortfall of his or her basic household needs ascertained in accordance with the standard measures prescribed by regulations.
