ESA Hosts Open Day to Kick Off Global Entrepreneurship Week

Enterprise Seychelles Agency (ESA) organised an open day at the Camion Hall building on Monday 8th November 2021 to mark the Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW). The Ministry of Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry has chosen the theme ‘Youth and Entrepreneurship’ to celebrate this year’s GEW. The theme is in line with its vision ‘Generation of wealth and creation of employment responsibly, in a conducive business environment’.

The aim of the open day was to encourage young people to venture into entrepreneurship initiatives. Several stalls were occupied by entities of the Ministry of Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry, including other professional educational institutions, private and public stakeholders such as Seychelles Fishing Authority (Aquaculture), COMESA Federation of Women in Business (ComFWB), Seychelles Business Studies Academy, Seychelles Institute of Art & Design, Seychelles Tourism Academy, Seychelles Institute of Technology, Central Bank of Seychelles, UN Youth Seychelles, Unikshells, Katiti Seychelles, Shifah Holistic Health, Magic Image and Favor Souvenir among others.

The ceremony was officially launched by the Principal Secretary for Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry,
Mr. Michael Nalletamby. He called on the youth with entrepreneurship ideas to seek help and guidance from the Ministry and from affiliated entities as well as from the well established entrepreneurs.

The Chief Executive of ESA, Ms. Angelic Appoo, said that under the Ministry’s new vision, the youths have a pivotal role to play to change this ecosystem. The open day also saw testimonies from entrepreneurs, a fashion show and performance by artists.
