ESA visits MSMEs on Praslin

The CEO of Enterprise Seychelles Agency and her team conducted a working visit on Praslin on Friday 11th December, 2020. The aim was to visit some Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on the island and capture some of the hurdles they are facing in their business. Additionally, the visit entailed a familiarization visit at the ESA Office located in Pension Complex at Grand Anse, Praslin for Human Resources to address any matters necessary to improve the staff environment and a visit of the site at Cote D’or where the Agency is proposing to build some kiosks to provide a space of operation to some Praslin entrepreneurs.

Most of the concerns raised by the MSMEs are in relation to access to land for operation or expansion of their business, access to finance, opportunities for small entrepreneurs to participate in tender of Government contracts and how their business has been severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The concerns raised shall be put forward to the Ministries concerned for further action.

The CEO was accompanied by the two Business Development Officers on Praslin, the Director for Human Resources and Administration and the Private Secretary to the CEO.
