ESA Talks to Businesses on Praslin & La Digue

A team from Enterprise Seychelles Agency (ESA) conducted several site visits and meetings on Praslin and La Digue on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th July 2021 with the aim of providing support and advisory services to businesses.

Meetings were held with a group of artisans on Praslin and also with the La Digue Business Association to take up the concerns that businesses are facing on the islands as well as their proposals on how to overcome the challenges. Many constraints were put forward following the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic in the country, however solutions were also put forth on how to help the business community. ESA shall now work towards assisting businesses and putting forward the proposals to the relevant authorities, through its parent Ministry, the Ministry for Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry.

The visits were also part of the implementation plan of ESA’s SeyCCAT project, whereby recording of several videos of businesses in the Blue Economy sector were also conducted. The videos will be used as anecdotes to showcase their success stories and challenges, although with the aim of encouraging more businesses to join this sector.

The ESA team was headed by its Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Angelic Appoo accompanied by Ms. Merline Ismael, Ms. Julina Nalletamby and the two ESA representatives for Praslin and La Digue, Mrs. Micheline Joubert and Mr. Terry Hibonne.

Such visits and meeting will be held on a regular basis to ensure the constant communication and feedback to the business community.
