As part of the activities for World Entrepreneurship Day (WED), Enterprise Seychelles Agency in collaboration with the United for a Purpose Brigade (Up Brigade) and Citizens Engagement Platform Seychelles (CEPS) organized a half-day skilling workshop on 25th August for female drug addiction survivors.

The aim of the workshop, which was held at CEPS Conference Room, Orion Mall, was to help the target audience to discover entrepreneurship which could help them to overcome their daily challenges. Additionally, the workshop included discovering work and business opportunities that are available, in relation to the training they had received, so that they can earn a living. The theme for the workshop was ‘The Road to Self-Sustainance: Leveraging the Power of Young Women and Girls for Creating Wealth’.

The nine women and girls had received training last year in basic tailoring and they graduated on March 9, 2021. Amongst them, three are doing home care, one is doing tailoring and the rest are still trying to find a job or to start a business.

The purpose of the World Entrepreneurs’ Day is to create awareness for entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership throughout the world. WED is the perfect day to celebrate these people who wants to make a positive change in their lives using entrepreneurship.
