Enterprise Seychelles Agency (ESA) organized a training on Innovation and Development of Modern Business Practices dedicated to micro, small and medium enterprises as well as aspiring to be entrepreneurs. The training was held on 21st and 22nd June 2022 at Care House, in collaboration with the Division of Science, Technology and Innovation (DSTI) under the Ministry of Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry.
The objectives of the training were as follows:
- To educate micro, small and medium enterprises on the definition of innovation and the importance of using technology in the correct manner to stay relevant in the competitive market;
- To help businesses’ bridge the gap between innovation and market positioning in order to establish long-term competitive advantage; and
- To create awareness of digital services available to facilitate business transactions.
ESA’s goal is to promote digital entrepreneurship and help businesses transform by adopting digital solutions. The aim is to increase entrepreneurs’ awareness on the importance of digitization in this era of innovation-driven and knowledge-based economy. Several representatives had an opportunity to elaborate on this topic and some even presented their various digital platforms that they have introduced for MSMEs, such as Registration Division, Bank of Baroda, Seychelles Bankers Association, Seychelles Breweries, SeyAdvert and of course DSTI for their dedicated collaboration in the training.
